Handmade in Portland, OR
Growing up in Seattle Washington, I spent a great deal of time in the outdoors. Even today I continue to enjoy hiking, camping and backpacking and I have the utmost respect for the beauty of the northwest. I love to travel and discover new places and textures. I photograph these things and use the images to create some of the earrings in this line. Many of the patterns are from furniture and other interior elements of my grandmother's home. These earrings are inspired by the things that I love: nature, Portland, traveling and my grandmother. I chose to use a warm Cherry, 3/32" thick wood with a natural oil finish to give the earrings a raw look and feel. The image is laser cut onto the wood and the burn depth of the laser creates the darkness of the image.
